Our Our CEO

Rustin Smith is the Owner of Scalability and its parent company, CloudBooks. He began his career as a CA with KPMG and spent nearly a decade as a VP at Goldman Sachs in hedge fund accounting. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to Wave Accounting as VP of Finance, where he witnessed firsthand the rapid changes happening in the finance and accounting services world.

When Rustin discovered Scalability, he was impressed by its founders, team, and platform, and umped at the chance to step in as CEO.

When he’s not busy “Scal’ing” or telling bad jokes, Rustin coaches his son’s hockey and baseball teams, shuttles his daughter to dance and hockey, and enjoys time with family and friends in Winnipeg and Lake of the Woods (possibly his favourite place on earth!).
